GUEST BLOG: Happy Birthday Kylie Wilson

-------Gonzo Remote: observations with id - bomber blog-------

Kylie Wilson was supposed to be enjoying her 22nd Birthday party on Tuesday but she couldn't because she was in custody.

Now let's make one thing very clear here - I don't like pigs; when it comes to bacon: I'm Jewish. The Police are pricks at the best of times and this case only highlights how bad their attitude to the public can get. Kylie was pulled over in a normal check point and her identity was mistaken for another woman who has warrants outstanding for her arrest. Mistaken identity is bad enough, but this had happened to Kylie TWICE BEFORE. She explained, begged, cried that they had the wrong person, she was then forced to be strip searched and when she resisted the Policewoman dug her nails into Kylie's arm forcing her
to comply. Kylie couldn't call a lawyer for 5 hours and when the Police finally admitted they had the wrong person, it was left for a Judge to throw the case out.

When you have no independent Police complaints authority, Police act like pigs as there is no need for restraint, add to this the fact that it only takes 19 weeks to be a cop, you have under-trained power freaks thugging up on members of the public.

So to Kylie Wilson who missed her own Birthday party because the cops were wankers, here is a little birthday gift:-

"Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear
Kylie-even-though-the-pigs-falsly-took-you-into-custody-and-forced-you-to-an-illegal-strip-search-because-they-are-jumped-up-power-freaked-wankers-and-made-you-miss-your-own-birthday,
Happy Birthday to you".

Hey I read about that somewhere, but you'd think if it had happened to this girl twice before the police would have been onto it.

As far as I'm concerned I wonder what the public intends to do about the 'taser drive' the police are currently implementing? Supposing this poor girl refused to go with them , what would be to stop the police from having also tasered her? I've seen a video on the interweb of a woman being tasered by an american police man.
She was an african woman and quite stroppy and resistant but not at all violent towards the police; who tasered her when she refused to get out of her vehicle.
What's to stop similar things happening here?
I'd like to see a public petition available to the new zealand public opposing the police getting the use of Tasers.. I'd sign it for sure.

Ive been a hacker for years so trust me when I say
When a computer tells someone something they believe it
Its understandable that the cops didnt think to follow up on what she was saying they are not trained to do so. If its in the computer its a fact. This is just a perfect example of where the reliance on computer systems cause people .. innocent people.. to suffer.
However I would advise you blame EDS and the Police Computer training staff for the initial error and the lack of follow up. Holding her without contacting a lawyer etc can be blamed on the arresting officers but the initial fault should not be laid on the police but directly on those who designed a faulty and flawed computer system. Its easy to blame those who enforce the rules but much harder to blame those that create the tools for the enforcers.

You know exactly what went through the minds of the cops "Ahh here we go. Its not me officer its my twin sister" how many hundreds of times do you think they hear that in there careers? They acted poorly and outside of the clearly defined rules. And I would argue that this shows another systemic problem with law enforcement in NZ cops need to be taught to care about their society and the people they arrest. They need to stop thinking that everyone is a hardened criminal. But for that to happen we need to show respect for them.
