Racism in Christchurch? I don’t believe it
There is an ugly smell coming from the Christchurch crash that saw two girls killed, two in serious conditions and many others wounded, and it is the suggestion that the man driving the car was racially attacked by skinheads and that is what drove him to such a devastating act. Racism in Christchurch? I can hardly believe it.

Police are investigating whether racially motivated violence led to a hit-and-run in Christchurch that has left two girls dead and two other people fighting for their lives. Witnesses spoken to by the Herald have described seeing "skinheads" fighting with Polynesians around the time a car drove through a group of people outside a party of several hundred on Saturday night. Lipine Sila, 22, is facing two charges of murder after allegedly driving through a group of people and killing Jane Young and Hannah Rossiter, both 16. Partygoer Felix Sekulla, 17, told the Herald the street outside the 20th birthday party was calm until some groups started picking fights. Jacob, 17, who was also at the party said fighting between the skinheads and Polynesians happened down the street from the party and many were rushing down to see it.

How do we know that the skinheads started it? I've heard through the grapevine that Polynesians can actually be pretty violent. I know, I didn't believe it at first either.
Honestly go to Christchurch for a week, then go to Otara in Auckland for a week and you'll see which of whites and the browns are the ones that provoke racial conflicts.

Hi, after graduating from Otago Uni I moved to ChCh for 2 months. By then Dunedin was the only place I had lived in NZ for a longer period where the ppl were so friendly and I met real nice and warm Kiwis - very friendly in every sense of the word. When I moved to ChCh I simply COULD NOT believe the attitude of the ppl there. I am brown-skinned and every day when I stepped out side I would get a racially abusive remark. It was ridiculous! I didn't want to go out to do the groceries even...This was ChCh at the start of 2007 not the stone age!!! I don't consider ChCh as part of NZ. Attitudes of ppl in Wgtn and ChCh are much much better.

I thought this was about one PERSON hitting and killing 2 INNOCENT PEOPLE and injuring some others It should have nothing to do with black white brown or green,And by the way I live in Christchurch and there is still alot of good people left here 90% of chch-Skinheads are either dead or in Jail! Been in Christchurch for roughly 3 years and the place has definitely got some serious ingrained racism problems - worked at a lumber yard in Hornby where one of the supervisors called one of his staff a 'dumb fucking nigger'- the staff member left work rather than do anything rash and was given a verbal warning when he got back to work by the store manager - the supervisor got off completely, actually I did hear that he was asked to be more careful with what he said at work... hmmmm
I've been in and around the chch underworld scene for a long time,the ballheads are not the ones to worry about,they are out and out racist and fully proud by showing it,it's the ones that are closet racists that are the worry in chch,the everyday cantabrian which wants so badly to be outright racist but is too politically adept to be so.....regarding the Sila case,thank the Kahui twins case with no verdict for the edgeware case outcome,two high profile cases being concluded the same week and one earlier then the other,all evidence pointed to the Sila case to be downgraded but because there was no conviction in the Kahui case and with the judicial systems procedures under the scrutiny of the media having two cases thrown out would of caused public uproar, This became a political case as much as a legal court case and unfortunately for Sila he was hung to dry,of course,The Victims in all cases were the real misfortune
