The John Key MMP spin begins

The current spin from John Key is that if National wins the most votes on election night they should form the government and smaller parties must heed that ‘moral authority’ – which of course under MMP is absolute bullshit – it depends on who can put together a majority, not which party has the largest vote. This line of attack from National is intended to whip up pundit kiwiblogh fury and National supporter fury if the Maori Party goes with Labour, claiming such ‘moral authority’ is a distortion of the truth and gives some inkling of how National will attempt to challenge the authority of the next Government if they don’t win.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm it seems someone has a poll that suggests 80% of the population agrees with him! Now what? Cry horricks and to hell with democracy?

How about we have a more scientific poll rather than the National Slanted 0900 poll that you refer to?
A bit like the poll i saw on telly the other night where customers of a muffin franchise ( approx $10 for a muffin and a coffee ) have national in the lead - may i suggest that any poll that costs money to participate in is NOT at all scientific- or all inclusive.
I choose not to spend my $$ buying overpriced muffins and coffee so am excluded from such polls, I also would never pay money to an 0900 number

Maybe we should have a referendum on it, that way anon 9:23 could prove to us all that it is only a handful of evil right wingers who want to get rid of MMP....

If Labour together with the minor parties were relegated to opposition, then how could National possibly govern - they would be out voted at every move.

Hey there anonymous rightards: If the unthinkable happened and National got 40% of the vote, ACT 15% and Labour 45%, should it have to be Labour that governs? Should ACT have to heed Labour's "moral authority"?

Don't bother to answer that. I know you're not really so stupid that you swallowed that "moral authority" spin. You're just hypocrites.

Why should we expect supporters of a party who takes a billionaires money to bribe already obese south aucklanders with KFC to vote for them
And I bet that's what this anonymous poster really thinks isn't it Anon, I bet you were tempted to mention the colour of those KFC eating South Aucklanders too weren't you, but then you remembered the deal your boy might need to cut with the Maori Party and it forced some extra self control didn't it Anon? Part of me really wants to see you have to live with that arranged marriage, it would be good you you to learn tolerance for 3 years.

Following John Key's (il)logic, National should have backed a Labour government last time around.

National supporters aren't worried about coalition with the Maori party, because they know National will just manipulate the dumb monkeys.

Maori Party policies speak for themselves. Particularly the hilarious 'restoring mana for hardened criminals' policy.

The only thing that should be restored for hardened criminals is the death sentence.

If there is one thing i'd trust about china its their method of execution - a bullet through the back of the head.
