The Palestinian question marked

Another staged walk-out by the precious, hypocritical Western government delegations at the UN during the President of Iran's speech. He once said that Israel should be wiped off the map, but it is the Israelis and their American and European proxies that have wiped Palestine off the map and intend to keep it wiped off - that is the greater crime - the actuality of national destruction than the utterance of the possibility of that reciprocation. The US - contrary to their position last year and at the behest of the Israelis - are going to block the recognition of Palestinian statehood at the UN.

They are wiping Palestine off the map. And the NZ govt will dutifully follow? Of course they will. Doing other people's bidding is what they are best at. NZ voted to create Israel - but will not vote to recognise Palestine.

And the NZ delegation - did they walk? NZ Herald:

The United States led a mass walkout of the UN General Assembly when Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad launched an outspoken attack on Western nations.

A US diplomat who was in the assembly hall to monitor the speech left halfway through, while the 27 European Union nations, along with New Zealand and Australia, then followed in a coordinated protest move.

The Iranian leader again cast doubt on the origins of the Holocaust and the September 11, 2001 attacks and criticized the United States for killing Osama bin Laden rather than bringing him to trial.

Ahmadinejad has in the past drawn international condemnation for his use of major speeches to call for the destruction of Israel and indicate that the US government may have been involved in 9/11.

Ahmadinejad told the UN summit that the United States and its allies use the Western media to "threaten anyone who questions the Holocaust and the September 11 event with sanctions and military action."

Once again "destruction of Israel" appears in the media of the West - the NZ Herald in this instance - but it is the West that has voted and will continue to vote for the destruction of Palestine. Does the Iranian President not have a point?
If anyone had any balls they would have walked out on Obama - he is the one promoting oppression.

The "two-state solution" is problematic to say the least. For comparison of how to resolve inter-ethnic clashes, partition into completely separate states seems the worst one to me. Imagine a partitioned South Africa as a solution to Apartheid? Unthinkable - and yet this is what is being proposed for Palestine. And all on Israel's terms. It is totally unacceptable.

The US's resistance to resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is probably the #1 reason why our American cuzzies are so despised in the Middle East.

Little wonder that fanatics are willing to blow themselves to bits (that, and the prospect of 65 virgins waiting for them in the Afterlife - it used to be 70, but, well, you know with austerity measures we all have to do more-with-less) to exact revenge against an imperialistic, repressive power.

In this respect the Americans just don't get it. They are like the school bully who don't understand why they are so despised. And if you try to point this out to them on one of their Forums, they denounce you as the Spawn of Satan; a Commie-Pinko-Liberal; or worse (to them) - a Democrat!!

Will the Yanks ever understand?

Yes, I think they will. But by then they will have passed the way of other imperial powers and become an irrelevancy. Once that happens, and Israel loses it's backers in Washington, they will be forced to negotiate a just peace settlement.

Tim, u will find that Ahmadinejad was (intentionly I suspect)mis quoted/mistranslated several years back. He did not call to wipe israel off thwe face of the earth. He said esentually that the the govt of israel would vanish from the pages of history.

Grab a copy of the original in farsi and have a fasi speaker translate it. He dares to call them on their holoco$t blackmail - that they scream anti semite and holocost whenever they get called on their treatment of the Palestinians. After the last few days,How much more evidence do we need that the president of the most powerfull country on earth is nothing more than israels "bitch" at their beck and call no matter how stupid it makes the usa look. And their power extends into the halls of most western govts, seemingly bending all to their will.

quote : - "I want to tell you something very clear, don't worry about American pressure on Israel, we, the Jewish people control America, and the Americans know it."Ariel Sharon to Shimon Peres, October 3rd, 2001, as reported on Kol Yisrael radio.

Tim, whats wrong . . . . I posted or tried to I should say last night . . .In it I said the Iranian ppresident had never called for the destruction of israel. That he had been willfully I suspect mistranslated and that the Zionist govt of Israel would soon be wiped from history Go translate his original farsi speech to satisfy yourself i'm basicly correct.

As to the Palestineans They should have had a state in 46 - 47 but now there is so little land left that getting the settlers out and back behing the 67 borders is going to be near on impossible, epecially with the power of the zionist lobby over virtually ALL the seats of power in the West. Obama, like all US presidents since Kennedy (Carter Excepted) have been under israels control.

Who's Hypocritical- When Palestine was partitioned in 1948 the Palestinians said NO.
When they were offered 100% of their demands in 2000 at Camp David they said NO.
The Crime is that you have selective amnesia when Iran and Hamas not only announce they want to wipe Israel off the map they actively try to make it happen.
Do you seriously think the solution is for Israel to just lie down and disappear or are you just trading 4 million Muslim refugees for 4 million Jewish refugees.
That's not a solution ...that's stupidity.
